Niji pro-paint Jumbo
Several years ago I discovered an unusual marker in a Stockholm shop for art supplies: the Niji pro-paint jumbo marker. The nib is shaped in a manner that one can work with both 20mm and 30mm line width.
The Niji pro-paint jumbo marker is a typical water-based pigment ink marker with a valve system for ink flow. None of the markers were still in their original packaging, on the contrary, all (they had about six to seven) were already used. Well, all signs in the shop were written with marker, and since they had no other 3 cm wide markers there that was maybe the reason that none of these markers were new anymore. It was not so easy to get one: They were not cheap (about 12 €), and a previously used and slightly dried out pen is not actually worth that price. They didn´t want to give it away for free and told me, one just has to press the nib on paper to get ink flow… I could then bargain the price down on some 5 € and that was it.

Vor einigen Jahren habe ich einen relativ außergewöhnlichen Marker in einem Stockholmer Fachgeschäft für Künstlerbedarf entdeckt: den Niji pro-paint Jumbo Marker. Der Schreibfilz ist so zugeschnitten ist, dass man sowohl mit 20mm als auch 30mm Strichbreite arbeiten kann.
Der Niji pro-paint Jumbo ist ein typischer Pumpmarker mit einer wasserbasierten Pigmentfarbe. Keiner der Stifte war noch originalverpackt, im Gegenteil alle (sie hatten da so sechs bis sieben) waren bereits angeschrieben. Naja, alle Schilder im Laden waren mit Marker geschrieben, und da sie da keine anderen 3 cm breiten Stifte da hatten denke ich mal, dass das auch der Grund dafür war, dass keiner dieser Stifte mehr neu war. Es war auch nicht so leicht, einen der Stifte zu kaufen: Sie waren nicht gerade billig und so ca. 12 Euro war mehr ein bereits benutzter und leicht eingetrockneter Stift eigentlich nicht wert. Verschenken wollten sie den Stift aber auch nicht mit dem Hinweis, da müsse man nur pumpen, um die Farbe wieder fließen zu lassen… Ich konnte dann auf etwa 5 Euro runterhandeln und damit war es dann gut.
